Having a devil of a time finding a t/t unit for an '89 85 horse evinrude. Model 85895c. I think there were only a few years they made t/t for this engine. Can you guys help me again? Can't really find complete part number or availability anywhere.

Are you sure your year is correct? I don't think they made an 85HP in 1989.

Googling that model number leads me to believe you've got a 1978. Now that's an ugly year for TnT because that's the year they switched from the older style with the rams mounted outside of the mounting bracket to the more integrated ones.

it looks like you've got the old style TnT. They are tough to find and really expensive. I used to have a 1973 85 and looked for a unit forever but they were always too expensive. Anyway, I THINK you need an old style (pre-'78) unit but as I said you're right in the changeover year.

Got in a hurry. I knew it wasn't an '89. Yes it is the old style. Can't find them anywhere. Did find one that I believe would fit but they wanted 1200+ for it.

There are aftermarket trim systems that are bolted to the transom, then the motor is then bolted to the trim system

Yeah I only see a 3 cylinder unit on ebay right now. No V4 ones. Might try giving one of the used outboard parts places a call. I had a good experience with TC Outboard.

I may have found one. I think that the original number, 387195 was superceded by 391013. If someone can confirm that then I did find one pretty cheap. Under 200.00 which is a steal.

Went through and it was the right one. Tests perfect for 163.00 with shipping. Thanks guys.
