franzmarine@aol.com, he will either have the necessary parts or will be able to tell you where to get them. If neither works, advertise on the classified bulletin board there.
Clymers shows one in the back of the manual. It is basically a two wire variable rheostat (sender) with wiring to a dash gauge. It bolts to the port engine clamp with a spring loaded arm on the inside of the clamp to measure the trim angle. Good luck--seems to be a rare part; I have never seen one on any of the engines with trim that I have seen.
It also just occured to me: Back in the day, Chryslers used the same hydraulic pump and reservoir as the Evinrudes. If all else fails, go to an old, crusty Evinrude mechanic (not some young pup who is newer than the engines and don't know squat about the old days) and ask him if the sending unit was the same. Might get lucky there.
