Hello all,
I have a Yamaha F90 with a 703 controller. I recently bought a trim gauge from the christmas store (Bass Pro shop) and am having some trouble getting it hooked up. The instructions were very bad and I'm no tech when it comes to wiring. There are three wires coming from the control box (Red, light purple and green) other than that, nothing else. The Yamaha dealer told me there should be a hookup at the motor for a entirely seperate harness to run to the gauge, said he could order one for about $100 dollars. Seems a little steep for a few plugs and some wire. Is this the only wat I can use this gauge? It is a Teleflex gauge. Thanks for any help.

Re: Tilt trim gauge hookup

Don't know your engine/controller set-up, but if the motor did not come equiped for "trim position" indicating then you will have to install some type of Potential device (rheostat) then you will have to install one for the gauge to operate.
