I went to try to go to the lake yesterday and when i got to the boat launch, my outdrive was almost dragging the ground. one of the tilt/trim hoses had busted, and it leaked out almost all the fluid. so i was wondering how i go about replaceing/fixing the problem. the out drive is a alpha one. it has 4 hoses two on reach cylinder. and i would like to know of a place to get them at a good price. thanks for you help.

Re: tilt/trim hose help

Go to Napa,+ Buy a New 1,........
Install It,....
Fill the Reservoir,....Run it Up,+ Down several times,......
Recheck the oil Level,.......

Go Boating.......

Re: tilt/trim hose help

Thats great info, not to cut in but I would like to know if Bondo can help me?
I have a 1966 inline six cyl, 165 150 hpr mercruiser I/O they said pre Alpha I am unsure what the difference is, but I also have a busted trim line right by the cyl. I am too wondering if I could go to NAPA? and also is it easy or difficult I am trying to find a schematic of the drive with the hose routing and the procedure to replace the trim lines and I am having no luck.
Thanks for any help and sorry for jumping into the thread.

Ayuh,... Go to the Adults Only section,+ download manual #1,...

If you can loosen the Hyd. fittings,.... it's an Easy job,...
But,... on a 40 year old drive,... I have my doubts...
