You have the PTT with the pump in the boat and the 4 hoses going to the trim cylinders on the motor? If so, there is a round head slotted screw on the top right of the trim pump. That is the fill hole. Use Dextron ATF or 5W-30 motor oil, whatever is already in there.

Yes, that sounds correct. We tried filling it on the actual shafts that have plugs on both. then later realized there is a hole in one of the hoses. when we would lift the motor by hand was when the fluid was squirting out of the hole in the hose. the pump is a little hard to get to is that normal? and since it doesnt trim up on its own do we sill start filling with the motor in up position and manually move it up and down to bleed with the plug out? how much fluid shuld it take if it is completely empty? Could you or someone please run through step by step filling and bleeding it?

thank you so much for your help

The pump is self-bleeding. Fill it and bleed the cylinders and then refill the pump. Remove one of the bleed screws on top of the trim cylinder, and run the pump in the down direction. Oil and air will shoot out. When all the air is out, install the bleed screw and repeat with other trim cylinder. Now remove the trim cylinders from their mounts. Turn them until the hose connections face up. Remove the up bleed screw and run the pump in the up direction until all the air is out. Reinstall bleed screw and repeat with other cylinder.

Refill pump.....
