Just getting started in boating. Have 79 Evinrude 85 hp that is low on fluid. There are two screws that appear to be fill areas - they are hard to get to. Any help as to how to fill the cylinders and with what type of fluid?

Re: tilt/trim info

Riverrat.... There is only one place to fill the PTT reservoir. Have the engine in a full tilt position and make sure it's supported. On the port side is the PTT electric motor. On the starboard side is the reservoir. There is a large screw half way up that reservoir, facing you that has a sealing "O" Ring on the back of it. Remove that screw as it is the fill hole. Fill the reservoir to that level. Now, put that screw and "O" Ring back in, then run the engine down and up three times. Check the PTT reservoir to see if it needs topping off. That's it.
