tilt trim motor help

i have a johnson 110hp. the trim motor was working off and on when it wanted too. the other day it quit working all together. i took a hammer and tapped the trim motor and it works and then quits again. is there anyway to rebuild this motor or is replacing it my only option?

They can all be rebuilt but some models of Ev-Johnson trim motors are so cheap new that they are disposable. have you checked new?
