Greetings all. I recently picked up a 1992 Sunbird Corsair with a 3.0 OMC Cobra I/O. I know the Sunbirds are considered a low end boat but it's a start to see if I really want to get into boating seriously. Well my issue is that the PO had removed the Tilt/Trim motor/reservoir assembly. I've found a couple for various Cobra's but the P/N's are different that what I've been able to hunt down for my boat specifically. As long as the wiring is the same can I use another cobra's assembly? The hydraulic lines are still there but I'm not sure if the threading will be the same with a different model assembly. I also priced a new OEM assembly and it's almost half again as much as I paid for the boat and I haven't been able to find an aftermarket reservoir. Does anyone have any more information for me? Thanks.

I have no specific info for you , but I would try to see if you can get one that will fit up. Part numbers change for various reasons; one of a different part number will most likely fit, but you are going to have to try.

I've been watching for an oem on ebay/craigslist but mainly see the pre-90's versions which I'm not sure if they will work. My biggest concern is if I go to another model pump is do they all have a standard thread pitch/line size or would I also need to try to find new lines for it?

There is a 50/50 chance it will fit. The lines threading will probably be standard but the line size might differ. There is really no way to tell unless you get the seller to tell you the line size. You may have to buy one that looks right and try it. If the price is right, not too much lost. If it doesn't fit you can re-sell it on ebay.

Ayuh,... Adaptive fittings can be found in most auto parts houses,..
The threads are the same as standard Brake line fittings..

Excellent. Thanks for the info. That will definitely open up my possible motor choices.
