Hi all,

The tilt/trim on my johnson is having some problem. It is only about 6 months old, so I don't think it's anything major. It goes up but wont trim down? What are some common problems it might be?

Also, for some reason my automatic bildge pump is stuck in the on position and runs the entire time its hooked up to the battery?

Any help would be appreciated.. trying to save a trip to the mechanic :)

Nevermind, I just fixed it. Relay was loose.

I cant figure out what's going on with the bilge pump though. I just have it unhooked for now so it doesnt drain the battery.

Not sure if this is any help or not, but have you looked at the switch that works with your bilge pump? Maybe it's not breaking the circuit when it's in the off position, i.e. you have a short or something within the switch? I guess there could be a possibility that there is a short somewhere else, like maybe the wires are somehow contacting eachother and are therefore bypassing the switch altogether. Anyway, it was just the first couple of things that came to my mind when I read this...

Thanks! I fixed the bilge problem too this morning shortly after fixing the issue with my tilt/trim. I had some seaweed blocking my sensor making the pump think the bilge was full of water
