Hey boaters,
I've got some tilt/trim problems. The motor runs when I push the down switch, but nothing moves. The up switch does nothing. The motor won't go all the way down.
I tried the manual pressure release screw(I think that's what it's called), and a little fluid came out, but still can't get the motor all the way down.
My buddy is gong to look at it this week, but i'd like try to use the boat before he can get to it. Does anyone know how I can release the pressure on the trim pistons?
Thanks in advance,
Jim

I should probably mention that I have a 1985 70 hp evinrude.

Re: Tilt & trim problems

loosen screw on bottom of right ram and let fluid leak out into a bucket. You shouldn't have to undo the nut, a turn or two and fluid should start dribbling out.
