Tilt/Trim repair question

In order to fix a leaking down problem on a friends E50TLCUD, I've ordered a check valve repair kit, and a manual release assembly. The manual release screw does not look like the one on my unit, which partially broke while I was turning it. BRP says this part is discontinued. The BRP breakdown identifies this part as #172601 ......#75 on the drawing

My question to those who have worked on these, did they sub another part for this? Before I tear this thing down, I'd like to be reasonably sure the new parts will fit.

how did you go with this ??? I have a '73 65hp with same problem.. need a manual letdown valve same part no.
