Hello, I have a 1989 Evinrude 70hp motor with tilt / trim. Well there are 4 locations on the boat to adjust the tilt / trim (bow by trolling motor, on the throttle handle, on the motor itself, and on the stern)
the switch on the throttle handle got kicked and physically broke. Its still somewhat intact, the switch wont work for raising the motor, only lowering.
I was going to ask if I can just get any old 3 way switch, where the middle part does nothing. I can find a way to attach it to the handle, or I can attach it somewhere close.
is this possible? I have read stuff about a relay box for tilt and trim, but why wont it work off of the existing one, or is that actually built in the switch?
thanks, I just want to be able to lower and raise the motor from a convenient location when I am driving.
