Been reading a lot of your advice, great board. I'm a newbie to the Merc side.

I am working on a 1972 MC 1 140hp, 181 ci.

Just getting ready to mate the outer and inner transom assemblies on my newly installed transom. Good bye to the OMC, hello MC1.

Does anyone know where i can get a good picture of the inner transom assembly before the engine is attached. I want to see the tilt/trim hose routings. The clymer manual, 12-2, has a small b&w picture but I just can't see any detail.

Also I have read that the tilt trim hoses that go to the cylinders are available at NAPA. I hope so. Are the ones at NAPA a universal hose or special for Mercruiser.

Thanks in advance for you help

Ayuh,... There's nothin' fancy in the hose routing,... They go wherever they'll lay, outa the way....

Yes, Napa carries the same parts line as iboats, 'n has the hoses by part number, 'n application...

Hi and welcome to the "Merc side"! As you have been reading the advice in these threads, you've probably read that the Clymer (and Seloc, for that matter) manuals are not very good at all, which you confirmed by your description of the low quality graphics. I recommend you go to the stickys at the beginning of the Merc section and look for/get the good OEM manuals...
