tilt & trim

need some help...changed my trim pump on my 88 mercruiser 3.0 i/o got all the wiring ok but had a case of the dumb a-- and forgot to write down which of the two lines(Black line and white line) went to which side of the pump. I think looking at the front the white is on the right and the black is on the left????

Hook em up.....If it operates backwards, change them.

hahahahaa<br /> I am glad I never did that. I think I posted a bit back about noting which one goes where. but now do like DonS says. but how ya think I learned to make notes the second time first cobra transom shield I replaced back about 94, I did not make notes ofthe trimm line to manifold hoses . had a heck of a time looking that one over. after that I keep notes on the back of the work orders. helps me not to lose my notes

Thanks for the info, at 60 years old, I was hopeing no to have to get back under there more than one time

Change them at the pump.<br />Which pump style do you have?
