Re: tilt & trim
Hey wade...

The engine needs to be tillted all the way up to check the reservoir. Give this a try.

Take a screw driver and loosen the manual release screw two or three turn. Manually raise engine and tighten screw. Check reservoir. Pull the fill screw and fill until level is even with screw hole. Service manual says to try and get the reservoir as level as possible. Replace plug and run TNT. Run it through about 4 cycles of up and down. Use the manual release to get it down if needed. Repeat process until you don't need to add fluid to the reservoir.

Now the original problem. On your particular engine, you have one solenoid. This is for "UP". The down running is more a path from the battery to the switch to the motor so there is no solenoid inbetween. Check in the TNT box, it's a black box which housed the solenoid and a terminal strip. Check for corroded wires on the terminal strip. The "Down" wiring will be green. There is a three wire harness coming from the TNT motor. A blue, green and black wire. Black is ground. Directly hook 12volts to the black and green (positive to green and negative to black) and see if the TNT motor runs. If so, the trouble lies in the TNT switch. If not, trouble may lie in the motor although I'd bet on the switch first. Keep us posted.
