I have a 2010 G3 pontoon with a 60 hp 4 stroke motor with less than 50 hours on the motor. Today the motor got stuck in the raised position, and will not go up or down. Is there a manual release on the motor, and, or is this something I can fix myself?

Thanks,
L.Cole

owners manual will show the manual release do you have one?
switch, wiring, relay, or motor could be a problem, just need to test things

Thanks 99, I did find the manual release screw location (as per your suggestion), in the owners manual. I will try to lower the engine that way... I'm thinking I am going to need a professional tester tho! It hums like it is trying to work, but wont budge. Another notable problem: the toon is still in the water - about 1/2 mile from the boat ramp!

Problem solved! I had to get wet, but I found the release screw on the transom, lowered the motor, tested the tilt & trim, and it is operating as it should -- at least for the time being. Thanks again for the useful advise!
