Hello All -
Been working most of the afternoon on replacing a siezed steering cable & tilt tube assy. No swearing (yet).
The nuts I purchased, Mercury 11-93164, are only threaded 80% of the way. My old ones are 100% (and need to be to secure the TT in place). I've looked at a few online places and ....
A) Can't seem to match my engine up (It's a '04 25 EL -- SN 0T83xxxx. All of the charts start at 'T98xxx").
B) Going to a few of the different 25 (2) strokes; they all show the same P/N for this nut.
Could this be a manufacturing issue or do I have an incorrect part? Any thoughts here would be appreciated. I'm sure the Merc dealer would tell me he ordered the right ones and then I still don't have a solution to get the boat on the water again.
