Ok guys, it is time for me to get a new prop. After running what is on there now in many different conditions it lacks a few things. Below is a brief list if prop and cons of current prop as well as current performance info.
Boat - 19' Deep V Center Console 2500 lb total average load including 2-3 passengers, gear, fuel etc.
Outboard - 1999 Mercury XR6 150
Prop -3 blade 21p Mercury Lazer II large vent plugs - MAX RPM trimmed out tad over 5,000 at just about 52 MPH GPS
Pros -
1. Planes fast
2. Good top speed
3. 4MPG @ 40MPH (fuel meter)
4. Straight line ride is good, boat comes nicely out of the water
Cons -
1. Looses grip at low RPM (under 3,000) because of vent plugs.
2. Small blade size makes it a little tough going slower in a fallowing seas
3. Turning while running is tough when trimmed out, slow to respond.
4.Only achieves 5,000 RPM (should be closer to 5,400-5,800.
The boat is stern heavy for sure, but the boat is fairly light in general for its size. Getting on plane is never an issue so I haven't gotten into trim tabs yet.
I am was looking into the Enertia props, but a little out of my price range. I am open to whatever gets the job done. MPG is important to me as a typical run is 60+miles. Please let me know if I forgot anything. Thanks in for the help.
