Re: Time for a new prop

Um... is that the speed and RPM with a damaged prop? Or is the posted RPM the RPM with the prop before damage.

Re: Time for a new prop

14 1/2 17P will pull ya hard
your speed sounds about right for a 22 with a 220-240hp 302 ford motor
360hp? hmm....do ya think he dynoed it? I dont....Ive had people tell me outrageous HP ratings for motors when they're trying to sell ya something.

a 4 blade Solas 18P would prob work out well too.....or if you can score a used or new stainless 4 blade......for a good price....

we're getting about the same rpm and speed out of our 23' with Hardin Marine Chevy 350 (260Hp rated on owners manual) and Chrysler 300 I/O outdrive 14 1/2" 19P no chance of us doing many prop changes as we have a fairly rare outdrive so were stuck with the 19P for the most part...

Scottoohot....since its a mercruiser mebbe you have some buddies with boats you can borrow thier prop/s for testing? and some prop shops will let ya buy and try props for testing until ya get the one youo like
