Hi all

Here's another newbie question.

Thanks to the helpful folks on this forum, I got my motor running yesterday. After the carb rebuild it now runs a little rough in idle. This is in the driveway with the muffs on.

Since I don't see any adjustable needles on my carbs, how do I proceed from here?

Thanks in advance!

David Brum,
Check for spark on all of your spark plugs. You might be losing spark on one of them and that is why it is running rough on the muffs. You can buy an in-line spark checker at the Auto Parts store very cheaply and slave it in one at a time on each of your 3 spark plugs to check for spark. If it is one losing spark then swap your coils around and see if it follows if it does then that is your problem coil. Also, make sure the grounds fo the coils are clean where they mount to and everything is connected up to the coils snuggly and to the spark plug wires. Just check the easy stuff first. There might be a lose conection where the power pack comes into the coils then from the coils to the spark plugs. Also make usre the butterflies on the 3 carbs are fully closed up at idle.nuetral and at WOT throttle with the engine off/shutdown make sure the carb butterflies are fully horizontal/parallel with each other and also make sure the throttle cam roller on the carbs is slightly away from the throttle cam say about 1/16th of an inch. Let us know how you make out with her, Bob:)

Wow, thanks again Bob. I hope to be able to devote some time on Weds. I'll check everything then.

Best wishes,
David
