Alright, to start off, I own a 2005 Bayliner 175, with a 3.0L Mercruiser Engine. Outdrive is an Alpha One Gen II.
So, boat warms up to 175 (normal temp). I take off, and as I start to get up to cruising speed, the temperature started to creep up more to around 185-190. (Usually I see 180 at the very most even at W.O.T) As I slowed down back to idle, temperature went back down to 175 at the same rate it heated up.
No overheating alarm is going off, but I know for a mercruiser, 190 is quite high..
Is it time for an impeller change? Or is it being caused by the temperatures outside (I know it sounds ridiculous, but i thought of it as a possibility because it's quite hot outside today).
I haven't changed the impeller since we've owned it (Bought it beginning of October), and we haven't got a clue if the previous owner has even changed it.
Any inputs are appreciated
