Hi All!

I saw that SS and QC said hi to me in another thread where SS was getting his boat out of drydock, so I thought I'd start a new one instead of hijacking his!

Well, it's that time of the year again where the ground has no snow left (for some of us) yet it hasn't quite thawed - so I get to pull the boat out of the backyard where she's in drydock...

I thought I'd make an official check-in and say hi... and start a nice thread about what you accomplished over this years horrible winter and what you'd like to accomplish this summer!

Personally, I threw in the towel on my computer consulting company last November due to the lack of my customers ability to pay me ontime! Unfortunately, when my customers don't pay on time, I don't get to pay my bills ontime! But the whole ordeal lead me to a GREAT company (Rite-Hite Corporation) that respects their employees and is a fabulous place to work. If you work in and around warehouses or loading docks, we make the grey dock levelers amongst other high-end loading dock equipment.

While my computer company failed, our other venture, the Mortgage Company, has thrived. It has had it's ups and downs, but it has been strong enough to provide us with enough capital to start a Real Estate Agency which is going well too!

As for this summer... I want to get my house properly landscaped, replace our roof and siding, oh yeah and spend as much time on the water as humanly possible. I'm also going to try out a new campground/marina in central Wisconsin where you get a boat slip with your campsite... should be good fun!

Enjoy the water this summer and BE SAFE!!

Re: Time to get out of Drydock

Good to hear your doing well and hope your boat survived the freezedried winter dock :D Can't do much here this weekend since the temps have dropped again. I sure don't like using the hose and getting wet when its cold. All I have left to do is clean up the hull and install a new water heater. Hopefully I'll get to launch it next weekend.

Since it is cold, I'll probably install some lights in my dock locker with a remote so that I can light my slip up at night when returning.

BTW, when was the get together for your area? Not sure if I can get off for vacation during that time or not. Since the wife is out of school, our schedule is more open now.

Good luck double E and hope the best for you as always.......SS

Re: Time to get out of Drydock

I took the tarps off my little boat this Saturday only to find out that a raccoon had taken up residence under my bow and it had used the rear as a toilet.
How it got in there is a mystery to me since there is no damage to the tarp.
To make a long story short. The neighbor's husky convinced mr. raccoon to go look for a new house and I cleaned up the coon doodoo.
There was no damage just a lot of ***** to clean up.

Re: Time to get out of Drydock

I'm going to pick mine up from storage this evening. I was planning on tearing it apart right away to replace the transom but I think I'm going to use it to go fishing/cruising around this Thursday as I'm off work. May as well get some enjoyment out of it first in case putting it back together again takes longer than I plan it to. (transom is reinforced and has been used for 3 years in it's current condition but leaks like hell).
