I have a 96 1710 trophy CenterC. Says max HP 90. I want to put a 115 ETCH on it. Is that to much more? I have a 96' 90 force that runs great. However, I was told that force mite run like a 75 Merc, Mite. The boat runs out real nice. Stay with a 90 or go for it. Only a grand.

Not getting into the overpowering issue; How are you getting a 115 Etech for a grand?

You can't get insurance on an overpowered boat and you would be 100% liable if anything should happen with that boat. It will AUTOMATICALLY be blamed on you, I don't care what it is.

No, stay with the 90. It says 90 for a reason.

Is a grand more than the 90. Thanks. I just watched a Video of one (115) on a 19' boat and was super fast. I'll stay with the 90 thanks

Re: Time to OverPower my boat?

think of it this way, if you could only hold 90 lbs over your head and I put 115 on you how would that work out?

You could hold it for awhile btu enentually you woudl have to drop it, it is the same for the boat..

No, that isn't that much more but are you willing to bet your boat on it?

When a transom fails it is sudden and catasrophic and normally can't be repaired so your moter deal woudln't be such a deal than.
