My 1991 evinrude 225 timer base is kind of stiff, Is it suppossed to move freely it is not comming back down against the idle screw when I throttle down. Was wondering if removing flywheel and a lubrication, cleaning, and inspection might help my problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Ernie.

Re: Timer base trouble

hello
first check the throttle link pivot bolts. if all the linkage is free its time to remove the timer and clean the bearing surface.
will be a good time to check for loose flywheel magnents while your there
