Timing an outboard???

Is there a way of checking the timing on an outboard 112 Johnson SPL? I am new to having an outboard, always had i/o.

Yes,rc. It is check in the same way. I can't help with the specs, as I don't have the shop manual for your motor. But you'll need them and a timing light,and you're all set to check it.

smithrc, you may also want to know that in order to check the timing you will have to have the motor running at or above 4500 rpm's . do not try this on a water hose.
