When doing a "static" or cranking timing test, the repair manuals recommend using spark testers. Does this mean that I take the regular spark plugs out and use the type of non-inline spark tester that is grounded with a clip to the motor? Please advise.

Any way you can ground the wires will work, be it a jumper from the wires to the block. Just so they are grounded.

Re: Timing and Spark Tester

That is good advice about grounding, Rick, and I appreciate it. In the Seloc manual the plug is still shown installed in the head. Is this correct, or should the plugs be out for the cranking timing test? Thanks! :)
