Ive removed the roller, but the piece that has the spring on it and the rod inside the spring is still on the motor. It mounts on a threaded post that screws into the block. The post has a squared off end sticking out beyond the rid/spring piece.
I want to remove the spring/rod to clean it up. I thought that it should just slide off of that post right? It seems that mine is seized to the post...the post with the spring rod will unthread as a whole of course, but I moved the heat exchanger to see if I could get enough clearance to get it off and its hitting on the engine water pump. Of course if I pull the engine water pump I could unscrew the whole thing but what a pain.
Can someone confirm for me that the rod/spring should in fact be able to pivot on that post and that it should just slide off?
Thanks!
