So my boat has the spitfire EEM ignition system. I just converted my engine (744APEPWS) to a roller cam and I was wondering if I will need to adjust my timing, and if I do, how can I adjust the timing on the spitfire system? This is also my fist time doing heavy engine work, so be gentle. Lol

There are a few threads here on iBoats about the Spitfire EEM, so maybe take a look at those threads.

I would think the base timing would be the same as for most/all 454's (8˚ BTDC) . . . but who knows. My roller cam 454's (gen 6) were 8˚ . . . same as my older 454.

I wouldn’t think the roller cam per se would make any difference; I’d want to check both base timing and total timing advance @ the specified rpm to make sure it’s in spec.
This system was used only a few years & parts for them are scarce. The earlier models with points are easier to deal with…
