Timing of 1990 90hp motor

On the flywheel there are 3 vertical lines(not shown in the manual). the center one is the longest with one that is shorter on ether side of the center one. Can any one tell me where Top Dead Center is and where would 28 deg. BTC be? I read some were that 28 was better than 30 BTC. Can some one answer this for me?
