I have a 402 40HP Thunderbold and i have trouble setting the idle speed. Shouldn'd there be a second marker on the crankcase to set the ignition? There is one white line on the red flywheel, but nothing to align it with. My idle speed is about 1500 RPM in neutral, and i think this is to high. How can i get this down? The Idle screw on the carb is 1.75 turns open, and when i change this, the motor stalls. I think i have a timing problem here...

i have the same problem, does anyone know where the timing marks are on the flywheel and on the motor itself. i think there shoud have been a pointer on the motor, but mine does not have one. thank you

on the port side of the engine, on the recoil should be an indexed area, mine is above the hole for the rubber isolation mount.
