Have a 1974 Ford 302 and the timing pointer, which is literally a solid pointer that is either cast or pressed into the timing cover, has broke off. I wanted to replace my points but need a timing pointer to readjust my timing. Anybody know where I can get a timing pointer for this engine that will work in place of the old cast in pointer?

If there is no hole in the timing cover, put a dab of white paint on the stub left. It's a visual reference mark, you only need to see it while using a timing "light". The light will illuminate the paint when it's flashing.

Re: Timing Pointer

Try Jegs or Summit. They carry a billet pointer for an SBC so I would think they make one for a Ford as well.
