A good friend has the misfortune of owning a 1990 Force that has always had problems. The latest one is new pistons, rings, sleeves, bore job after it blew sky high and it still runs like a dog above idle speed after being rebuilt.
A lot of it is fuel related problems but I saw on here a few months ago a post about Force sending out a service bulletin about the correct timing for this engine.I don't remember what it said and wondered if you guys on here had any information about this service bulletin.I think it said to advance or retard the timing to 32 degrees and leave it there.Really can't remember.Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks In Advance

Re: Timing question for 1990 Force 90 horsepower....

The service bulletin suggested the timing be set to 30 degrees BTC not 32 because of the present types of gas on the market.
I keep mine at 32 but only use mid to permium gas. Here we don't blend the OL's in the gasoline but I hear they are problematic.
