Re: timing

increasing the rpms at idle, which is what you did, has nothing to do with the timing. You are okay.

Re: timing

Thanks I thought i wrecked the timing, because it does say in the manual to lengthen the throtle control rod to increase the timing degrees or shorten the rod to decrease the timing degrees, and thats what I did to increase the idle?

Re: timing

If you are having trouble at idle it is time to pull and soak your carbs in a good carb cleaner and buy rebuild kits for them. You have a clogged jet and gunk in one of them. It doesn't take much to screw up an idle. If you are going to take them off and clean them it makes sense to put a 20.00 rebuild kit in each. Doesn't take much time to change this. Since you have a manual got to the link n sync section and follow the instructions to the letter and you should be fine.

Exactly!

More than 50% of the work in a carb rebuild is removing and reinstalling the carbs. As long as you have 'em off you might as well do it right.
