Can white gelcoat be tinted by a regular paint store? I was told that paint stores use industrial pigments for their paints. Are these pigments compatable? I'm trying to get a bright yellow. Any help will be welcomed.. Thanks..

How much gelcoat you are planning to tint? You can buy small tubes of tint for gelcoat at most marine stores or on line.As for as paint tint, don't know if it would work.

You will never be able to Tint white gel to anything more then say pastel colors ( baby blue, pink, light yellow etc )

You need to get some neutral Gelcoat..then tint to color.

And no..latex paint tint isnt an option , use polyester based pigments :)

Make sure you tell the supplier whether you want the finished product to be opaque or tinted (transparent).
