Those work fine, but only on a single cylinder engine. If you plan on using it for marine use, you'll have to multiply what it reads by the # of cyls.

I used to use those when setting RPMs on small engines.

I really have no desire/need to run a tach full time on any of my (6) OB's but I would LOVE to have one that was easy to add/remove so I could use to troubleshoot, tune and reprop. For the amount of time I would use it, I'd have no problem multiplying by the # of cylinders. How much and where can you get one?
