Starting my Project 1998 200hp Rebuild. Got it for a couple hundred bucks--pretty good shape minus 1 cyl. I've done enough V4's to know what I'm doing seperating the PH. But this is my 1st V6..Heavy and awkward for sure!

Everything is out (all bolts came out easily) that needs to be out. I have the PH and Exhaust housing (LU removed) supported by a lift off the flywheel, But cant break the adapter/PH seal. In the past I have had to get tough with them....But I dont want to break anything as I want to use this motor one day.

Any tips for helping to break the seal? There are those small Studs front and back that may have the white corrosion around them. I've pry'd lifted the whole unit...NADA so far. I need it to not rock to far back and forth to avoid bending those studs. On others if the head doesnt come up fairly straight and the studs bend, it makes matters lots worse.

Thanks all.

e200txecm . Have the OMC manual too. Gonna be tricky to get the required Lift force required to try and seperate the head from the adapter.

thanks

don't they have little prying casting shelves on the adapter and the power head??, I know the v4 and v6 60 degree loopers do!!! its just the stickiness of the gasket..

Model # is required.

aren't all the 200 hp models from that year using the same Midsection adapter?? are the power head blocks any different???? what is different about all the models that use props besides counter rotating unit??
