Hey guys,

280 O/D

Anything I should look out for when replacing the water neck (old one corroded and snapped off at the snout)? Seems pretty straight forward, just wondering if there are any tricks to getting it done quicker (disassembly order) or issues to look out for.

Thanks

Re: Tips on Replacing Water Neck

If your bellows is over 2 years old, you might want to consider replacing it at the same time, then you can remove the upper gear box, (which makes it a lot easier to get to the water neck) replace the bellows and the water neck at the same time. Will take about an hour to replace both and change the gear oil at the same time.
Here's thread that explains it.

As usual exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

Should any type of sealant be used on the housing of the water neck or does the supplied gasket suffice?

No gasket sealer, it's a rubber gasket. A bit of grease keeps corrosion down.
