I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 2500. The factory size tires are LT245/75R16 load range E. I found a set on craigs list but the size is 265/75R16 Load range E. Whats the difference? Will these tires fit? Thanks

#1 if the tire you are looking to get for replacement does't have the LT in front of the first number ,then it is not specified as a light truck tire.#2 the 245 and 265 refers to the millimeter width of the tire from the outer to inner sidewall at its widest point when mounted to a specific rim.

Re: Tire size ?

if u look at the door sticker it might list both the 245 and the 265. when working at a major tire retailer i saw this alot on the newer chevies. the 245s also look rather puny on the 2500 and the 1500 for that matter. Be aware that the taller tire will make cause your speedo to run slow. your GM dealer should be able to correct this with the CANDY scantool. this should not void your warranty iether as this is an optional tire size.

265=width mm
75=aspectratio-sidewall/width

Dont go with less than an 8 ply (D Range) as ply seperation will occur.
