Tire tread same on both sides, do I have problem

Hello,

I just bought a magic Tilt trailer with 14" tires that has a capacity of 3100 lbs. My bought weighs around 2000-2500 lbs. What I noticed is that the 2nd tread on the tires from the trailer side is worn on both tires. The salesman says that it is Ok. Do I have a problem starting? Any suggestions what may have caused this and how to resolve. The old trailer I had was not the correct trailer to my boat and thank god I did not get in a wreck. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

First though is that your axle is bowing under the weight. What is it's capacity/condition?

That's what I'm thinking too.
Your either overloaded or the axle is bent. There's no way a new trailer should be eating tires.

The other possibility is the axle has a built in slight positive camber (wheel tipped slightly out at the top) that is negated when under load. This is actually quite common on lighter built trailers. Somebody then decided to "flip the axle" under the springs (probably to gain ground clearance for whatever reason), and in the process, they turned the axle upside down from what is correct. That results in excessive negative camber (wheels tipped way in at the top) while under load causing the excessive tire wear. I used to see this all the time on travel trailers and popup campers (back when I still camped alot).
