I have a 1996 350 merc engine with a weber carb, engine rebuilt 2 years ago. My issues are i hate even drops of oil in my bildge area. I see i have oil on my hoses coming from the flame arester to the top of valve covers (no much ) but enough to bug me. Is there a may to put a pvc system on this engine? I dont see any ports in the carb. thanks for the help

that is the pvc / blowby reclamation system. put a few zip ties on the hoses where they fit on the elbows on the valve covers.

Could drill holes under or on top the flame arrestor (where ever you have room). Gets some aluminum, plastic or brass fitting to fasten them to the arrestor. Then connect the hoses to the fittings.

I like the last idea but the hoses are cheap ribbed plastic and i think most of the oil is going on the outside of the tubes. Looking into putting a true pvc system on. thanks

If you want to put in a true PVC system, look on the back side of the part of the intake manifold that the carb mounts onto. On my V6 manifold there is a threaded plug in the back side of the carb mount, that probably could be removed and a vacuum fitting installed to use as a vacuum source.

A decent attachement of the hoses to the flame arrestor would satisfy a clean engine compartment. Plumbing in a full PCV seems excessive, but probably easy enough using a carburetor spacer plate with a PCV port built into it.
