Tis the season... to rebuild carbs... How to get the needle valve bearing out

1970 85hp Johnson. <br /><br />Little plastic gizmo that slides over the needle valve and gets stuck down at the end<br />of the needle valve shaft. How to get it out?<br /><br />Tried crochet hook to no avail. <br /><br />Any ideas?<br /><br />Thanks in advance,<br />Mike

Do you mean the needle seat?If you see a slot try a screwdriver counter-clockwise.If no slot,keep out the screwdriver....

the small diameter spiral EZ out will just fit in there and grab the piece. If it is already knicked up, you may need a dental pick to get it past the threads.

had the same problem . my manual said to take a wood screw turn it in to catch and pull out the old seat worked fine for me.

Where do to get a wood screw? The ones I have are brass, steel or galvanized?
