Whats the deal with The learning channel here lately??? Used to be interesting.. Few shows still are, but....

All these "while you were out we trashed a perfectly good house" shows??? E-gad man... That "What not to wear" show, HUH? I don't get it.. Things are awful "funny" there, and I don't mean funny-ha-ha..

Has TLC gone fruity, funny-strange, er what?

I think it's an equal rights thing myself.
You know they have to have things for them also.
I don't watch it anymore because they have strayed from what there once were.

Re: TLC

Was a cold day in He!! when they took Yan Can Cook off TLC. The best shows were the home improvement shows like Hometime and Furniture on the Mend. Ratings with these programs must have gone downhill so they changed to the crap they have on now.

Re: TLC

We got rid of our regular satelite package about6 months ago, local chanels only.... Sorry to hear TLC went down the pipes.

Only thing I ever watched when we had all those worthless chanels were, HIstory (gone WAY downhill from what it was a few years ago) Discovery, TLC, SPEED... that's about all I watched. Wasn't worth the $40 a month.

Baseball season will be starting again soon, so might have to turn it back on for the wife. She's the sports fan in the house.

I agree! I hate those makeover shows. Also, what's with all of these "reality" shows. That's the most boring bunch of crap I've ever seen. I've got reality. I still like the History channel though.

Re: TLC

i've been trying to notice the content of the shows y'all mentioned. i don't usually watch much other than cartoons with the 4yr old being around. but yeah, its def a 'trend' to have all those 'while you were gone' 'redo the room' 'monster this & that'.

i guess nothing could be worse than the 'q-u-e-e-r eye' stuff. maybe it will be a fad like the ripped jeans and platform shoes. :D we need a forum just for stupid human clothing. lol

mules, the shoes. right up there with the amc pacer.
(ha! i amended the word to show up. nanana na na)

Re: TLC

TLC has definately gone down the tubes (no pun intended). I get sick of turning it on and constantly seeing "While you were out" on, or "Trading spaces" seems like thats all they play now!! Where has Hometime and those shows gone?! I think I saw them on The home and garden channel when I was channel surfing one day...too bad for TLC, it used to be a good channel. Discovery Channel has one good show on that I watch which is American Chopper. History Channel is OK too. My wife leaves the room when she see's the history channel or discovery channel on.. haha.. she wants Lifetime on 24/7! (UGHH!!)

Re: TLC

All I know is Trading Spacesand the like will NEVER set foot in my house. I have never seen so much rigging going on in all my life.

HGTV is still a good network, and I still like the FoodNetwork and the History Channel.

TLC has taken a dive this past year or so. If you've seen one of those shows, you've seen them all.

Re: TLC

I went from the $40 familiy package to the $8 basic package a few years ago after my youngest daughter started college. The basic package was pretty good until Comcast took over. Now it's garbage and I spend most evenings listening to the radio and reading posts on this and a few other sites.

Yeah, I miss the good home improvement shows that showed how to actually build a house, not glue crap to a wall and call it good. I of course still watch all the gearhead stuff because I am simple that way, but it is the fluffy crap I can do without. Trading Spaces wasn't too bad at first when they were the only show like it, when they did okay rooms, but now they just ruin houses and don't even care. Don't even get me started on the "***** eye" stuff and this whole "metrosexual" thing. Hey, I have nothing against homosexuals, but this is just a little too homosexual. And the Metrosexual thing, it is just trying to create men who cannot do anything except dress good. What happened to the good old days of a couple of guys standing there and staring at an engine saying "yup" and workin' a beer? I had a buddy once where we could spend hours sitting in the driveway, workin' a beer or ten, and not a word is ever spoken. Men need to be men, not women who look like men. Oh, and Lifetime, the Abused Wife Channel. Whenever I catch my better half watching that garbage I remind her she has almost a decade of college education and she promptly turns that trash off, or more importantly, picks up a book and reads.
