Hey doc, haven't forgot about you guy's. I'm taking the merc to the local mechanics next week but to make my problems worse, went out to get away on the other boat for a little grouper fishing and one of my twin 1991 Yam's on my SeaVee busted a shaft just about a 1/4 inch outside the seals running at about 40 mph. I didn't hit anything, it was in about 20 ft of water. hobbled back in on the other engine. My problem is that I took the dang thang apart, picked up all the parts to put it back together, (no big deal) and found that both prop seals are facing the same direction (out). It was not leaking gear lube and oil looked good. I always thought that one seal faced inward and the outside seal faced outward. Any suggestions?<br />Thanks again.
