TN-26 cooling water path?

I acquired last week a '50/'51 Johnson TN-26 5 hp. I got it running after cleaning the points and carb. I took the lower unit apart to check the impeller, and it seemed fine. Started up after that, water is being pushed up to the block. Where does the cooling water exit, also for the exhaust?

It goes out underwater through the big hole aft of the prop. The TN has a squirt hole in one of the brass water tube elbows to show that it is pumping. It also will spritz a small amount of water out the exhaust relief holes about half way down the shaft.

I did see water spray and exhaust from the releif holes. I suppose that's working right. Thanks!
