I've got a TN-26 , (loaned to me and to get running) . Some basic questions:

1. Does the first coil (closest to the speed control) make spark with the TOP cylinder (as usual).???

2. What is the steps on setting the points?? There are no timming marks (or anything) one can use to alingn TDC ...

I've already re-built the carb, and adj. same .

Any help wound be appreciated !!!

1. Yes

2. Notice the crank, one side is machined "flat", the other is the high side. The points should be set to 020 when the push rod rides on the high side of the crank, and closed when on the machined side. To adjust, loosen the adjusting screw, turn crank until push rod is on high side, then set to 020 with feeler gauge.

Thanks !!! High Trim....I thought I was right with the coil. The points are measured from where they are making the transition BETWEEN high and low. I'll reset them a bit further back.

Again, thanks !!!
