TnT on a 48 special

Has any one ever changed out the tilt assist to a 89 evinrude 48 special using the existing or biger motor bracket to include the standard tilt on all the other evinrudes? I have an extra transom bracket from a evinrude 110. Ive seen the assemblies on Ebay at an affordable rate. Putting this motor on a plywood & fiberglass scooter for the flats here in South Texas. Please help me figure this one out.
