the shift cable...everyone seems to agree the new mercruiser shift cable is superior to the old one .I wonder if I have the new one and should I change it just because I am doing all bellows and bearing ? what say you all ?...I love this forum ,Bob....p.s. I have 330 hours on the original one and it shifts fine.

With 330 hrs you probably should. It won't be too much longer that it will be necessary.

I always include shift cable replacement as part of the job. Keeps customers happy!
