To Fix or Not to Fix?

The other day while running the boat trying to fine tune the Mobster Tabs, I nosed the boat into the bank so that I could go and back the trailer down the ramp (I was by myself). When I nosed into the bank, I noticed it bumped pretty hard. After trailering the boat and getting back home, I noticed while washing the hull, that it looks like I may have run up on a rock or some concrete. It put three little gashes in the bottom of the boat scraping the metal back and away. The scrapes didn't perforate the hull--actually no where close since the aluminum is somewhat thick (.100"). The damage is still up on the vee part of the hull, a few inches before it transforms into the flatter part of the hull or the pad. The scrapes measure about 2-3" in lenth. Should I sand the area down flat again, fill with epoxy, and repaint? Or do you all think it would be fine. You cannot see the damage unless you get under the boat.

The reason I posted this was to see what you guys would do since almost everyone has more experience than me with boating issues. Please let me know what you think I should do or how I should go about repairing it. Any information or help you all can give will be appreciated. Thanks.

Fix it, fix it right, spend many hours getting it just right.
Then, bump a rock the next time you go out, and repair it again. :)

I would let it alone, unless it bothers you.

Re: To Fix or Not to Fix?

I don't think keel guard would have helped me here. The damage is a good 10-12" away from the keel line. Roscoe, my thinking was along your way of thinking. It really doesn't bother me, I just wanted to get some advice from some people who would lend some experienced advice instead of just what I thought. Thanks. Any other advice, suggestions, or comments would still be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: To Fix or Not to Fix?

Have a look at it once in a while to make sure it doesn't develop into a crack. Otherwise smooth off any sharp edges and don't let it bother you. :)
