What would happen if you put to much oil into the gas? I am using a 50:1 ratio. I mixed oil with gas in a spare tank, my son thinking that the tank just contained gas added more oil. We haven't used the spare tank yet. Should the gas/oil in the spare tank be thrown out (by proper means) or could it still be used?

More smoke and maybe some fouled plugs. That's about it. Don't throw it out, use it.

Can you take half out & store it, then fill the tank up again. The mix should be right.<br />Then do the same with the stored gas later.

Just run the tank until it's half empty and then refill it with straight gas and you will be back to normal... I assume this is a 6 gallon portable tank, so it should not take long to burn off half of it...
