To replace or not to replace?

[88Sunbird4.3L]

I have an 88 Sunbird w/ and 4.3L and Omc drive. I have the outdrive off and the engine out am in the process of getting the new motor ready to go it. My question is.. Should I replace the bellows and other parts inside the ?transom? (the part that the outdrive mounts to)? Is it easier to do this when the motor is out? I havnt looked into the job itself yet, but is it a difficult job? Whats involved? Any and all info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
